Gutters fail more often from being undersized or badly pitched than from age. A roof sheds a lot of water in a short time during a heavy storm, and 5-inch gutters on a large steep roof will overshoot no matter how clean they are.
We size the gutter and the number of downspouts to your actual roof area and pitch, then hang them with hidden hangers into the fascia rather than spikes.
Where the water goes after the downspout matters as much as the gutter. Dumping it at the foundation is how basements get wet.
